  • Benefit limits up to $15,000 per month. (Group plans are often capped at $6,000 per month)
  • TIOPA discount on premiums of 10%.
  • Total and Residual disability benefits available.

  • Waiver of premium benefit.
  • Choice of waiting periods. (These days can be accumulated – group plans often require consecutive)
  • True “own-occupation” definition of total disability available. (The heart and soul of a disability policy – you receive benefits if, due to a disability, you are unable to perform the substantial and material duties of your own occupation, even if you earn money doing something else.)
  • Guaranteed continuable standard and Noncancelable rider available.  (Group policy premiums typically increase with your age and are not guaranteed.  Also, group policy provisions and benefits can often be changed and even reduced.)
  • Future Purchase Option rider available.
  • Indexed cost of living rider available.
  • Catastrophic / Presumptive total disability benefits.
